PBBG Advertising Networks

January 14, 2008 – 7:05 pm

If we could get more PBBG-oriented ads, I’m sure we’d make much more from putting ads on our sites, and receive many more visitors from our ads! Well, as you know, the Internet has everything you can imagine and a lot more that you can’t, so of course there are ad networks for games!

The first one I know of is called Mochi Ads. It’s mainly for flash games, and is usually shown when a game or level is loading. I’m sure this could be a very great tool for flash PBBG owners. You could make money every time somebody loads a new map!

An advertising network for browser games and game-related websites is the Game Advertising Online network. This is not an advertising network for small games and casual developers. They host some big names on the internet, not just for PBBGs but for games in general, such as RPG.net, OnRPG.com, and NewGrounds.com. There are also big PBBG games such as Mafia Death and The Ninja RPG. Want to belong to this group of elite gaming websites? Before you even think about it, make sure you get at least 10,000 unique visitors a day. Here’s a quote straight from their website:

Who Can Become a Publisher

1) You can become a publisher only if your web site is related to computer games.

2) You can become a publisher only if your web site receives at least around 10,000 unique visitors per day.
Important: unique visitors are not hits or pageviews. A unique visitor is a statistic describing a unit of traffic to a Web site, counting each visitor only once in the time frame of the report - Wikipedia.

The last ad network that I know of is called Apex Gaming Ads. Yes, the same ‘Apex’ from Apex Web Gaming. It seems to be a recently opened website, but they are already serving many ads to many publishers. They also have a high traffic requirement (5,000 uniques daily), but PBBG Blog got in without any problem :) Activation was quick, and you can see the Apex Gaming Ads on the bottom right of this page.

Do you have any experience with these ad networks? Did you advertise or did you serve ads on your site? Please tell us about your experiences!
